We read queries for literary fiction, upmarket commercial fiction, and middle-grade — the kinds of books where a specific detail, not a genre logline, is what sells us. This is a query first, manuscript second; please don't send a full draft unless we ask for one.

What we're looking for

  • Literary & upmarket commercial fiction
  • Middle-grade fiction (illustrated or not)
  • Stories with a plausible screen angle — not required, but tell us if you see one

What we don't acquire (yet)

  • Poetry, screenplays, or picture books
  • Self-help, memoir, or general nonfiction
  • Manuscripts under 90 days from a prior submission to us
